Appointment of Director to lead new Delta-Simons South West regional office
We are pleased to announce the appointment of André Gilleard who joins the team as Associate Director - South West Regional Lead and will be heading up the new regional office, based in Bristol.
It was recognised that the South West location would be best placed to further develop our nationwide network to support our growing client base for environmental services. The Bristol office will be the tenth Delta-Simons office location and the seventh office to open in the last five years.
André brings 25 years’ experience in ground engineering (both consultancy and contracting), with his most recent role involving working alongside internal civil and structural engineering teams based in Bristol and Exeter, primarily in residential, retail and commercial sectors for sites across the Midlands and South West. His specialisms include contaminated land and geotechnical engineering and especially identifying abnormal development risks for land acquisition and redevelopment, as well as providing advice to clients on how to best to maximise reuse of surplus soils and other waste materials via the various waste protocols.
André gained an Engineering Science degree at Exeter University, culminating in a 1st BEng (Hons) in Engineering Science (Civil). Having spent initial years in structural and civil engineering roles, he then specialised in ground engineering and is now a Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC) - one of only about 200 in the country, a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and a Chartered Scientist (CSci). André is also a ‘Qualified Person’ under the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice.
André says, “Bristol is a very eco and creative city and the perfect location for Delta-Simons. The Bristol and Bath region is reported as being one of the UK’s most balanced and successful economies, contributing £32.8bn to the UK economy and is the most productive of all the core cities. I am therefore very excited to be able to build a local presence for the company in this region.
“With established regional offices in Lincoln, London, Leeds, Manchester, Durham, Birmingham, Norwich, Nottingham and Dublin, the new Bristol office will provide significant new scope for South West environmental opportunities and adds extra local support for our existing client base with interests in the South West.”
