Moving Between Inogen Partner Companies
Over the past two years, Peter J Ramsay and Associates (PJRA) has welcomed two new colleagues from Inogen partner companies. In May 2017, Annika Taylor joined the firm from Antea USA (St. Paul, MN Head Office) and in November 2018, Roddy McQuade joined PJRA from Delta-Simons (Lincoln Head Office). Both Annika and Roddy are based in PJRA’s Melbourne office.
Aside from the tedious Australian work-visa process, Annika and Roddy have enjoyed the ease with which they were able to transition from one Inogen partner to another. Annika describes a seamless transition across the globe: “It was a really seamless transition from Antea to PJRA. Both companies have the same values and strong work ethics. Plus, everyone in the PJRA office has been so welcoming and helpful as I was adjusting to living abroad.” Similarly, Roddy’s integration into PJRA’s team has been a smooth one: “I thought moving from the UK to Australia would have been a difficult transition, but it almost feels like I’ve moved to a different branch of the same company! The team at PJRA have made Annika and me feel incredibly welcome, which has made the whole move really simple”.
Annika and Roddy have brought international perspective and experience to the local PJRA team, whilst gaining a broader understanding of environmental consulting in a new landscape and jurisdiction. They have both had the opportunity to work on various projects across Australia, including Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales and are becoming more adept at avoiding snakes and adjusting to the extreme weather that Australia has to offer. Annika and Roddy have been making the most of their free time by exploring as much of Australia as they can, with Annika having enjoyed the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, the rainforests of Queensland and Perth. Roddy has taken the chance to explore the delights of regional Victoria, the beautiful Sydney harbour, and the white sandy beaches of Queensland in his time ‘down under’.
Manging Director of PJRA and Inogen Board member Peter Ramsay reflects that Inogen associate to associate staff transition has been a very positive experience for all concerned: “Both Annika and Roddy have integrated perfectly into our existing team, providing excellent technical and interpersonal skills that we’ve come to appreciate from our Inogen associates over time.”
In addition to adding team members from fellow Inogen associates, Philip Johnson from PJRA’s Melbourne office has recently moved to Canada to join Terrapax in their Toronto office. Phil has been lucky enough to move to Toronto in the spring, meaning he will enjoy two summers for 2019 – albeit a slightly cooler summer than what he’s become accustomed to in Melbourne!
